Guerrilla Nights

Yes, John.  There can only be one.  Considering this retribution for the not featuring Mr. Mayer a few sessions ago b/c the track was over used.  Battle Studies was my jam when it dropped in 2009.  Took me awhile to fall in love with the whole thing…for various singular tracks ranged from awesome to holy shit!  Yes, my rankings can be little fucked.  Still more than right.  The weeping guitar really steals this track.  Enjoy.

Had a Guerrilla Night last night.  Aren’t you proud?  Been awhile since I jammed pack my evening with Belgian Beer & bittersweet / lovely tunes at my favorite venue / bar.  The Beer, a blonde, was one of the best I’d had the pleasure of drinking at the blue palms.  If the show didn’t follow most likely would’ve had more beer reviews than concert ones.  Here’s the drink in question:

After my dinner at the bar I joined a long time friend, colleague, and music producer extraordinaire at our homecourt — The Troubadour — to watch a newly freed Dixie Chick fly solo with BEN HARPER!  Still geeking out.  Yes.  Pleasant surprise. Mr. Harper held a place on my music artist Bucket List.  Can mark that off now.  Here’s a animated gif of Ben killing it…made by me!:

Natalie Maine performed her for the handful of LA based suits & ties under the iconic Blue Lights.  She is on the road of releasing her 2013 solo debut entitled ‘Mother’.  Long time Dixie fans will be happy by this reinvention of her country-blues-Grace Potter siren style.  A formal write up is coming as soon as my life stops.  Which hopefully will be in a day or so.

Big shout out to my friend for the last minute invite.  If I could imagine my life in a Bourdain style, She would be one of those experts that are featured on a late night adventure.  My goal is to build a roster of those contacts by December.  Only thing now is to try to pay her back.
